The New Office in Casco Viejo

My name is Amber Platschorre and I live in the Netherlands. For the coming 6 months I will be working as an intern at EcoCircuitos and I will be trained to work at the recently new opened office in Casco Viejo!

The new office is located next to the American Trade Hotel in Casco Viejo, the old part of Panama-City. This office will be used as a selling point of the tours and adventures EcoCirctuitos has to offer. This office will be selling to tourists that are interested in luxurious and sustainable tours that provide them with interesting, educational, fun and adventurous ways of discovering the beauty of Panama during their stay in this country. We will offer you tours to the Panama Canal, provide hiking tours in different national parks, discover tours in Panama-City, we offer adventurous tours such as kayaking, biking and surfing. Furthermore, EcoCircuitos is an expert in offering the best birding tours in Panama, which will be a great opportunity for those who would like to discover lots of new species that they have not seen before. These tours will all be guided by EcoCircuitos naturalist guides that provide you with interesting information during the tours. Moreover EcoCircutios dispose over lots of tours to different parts of Panama, for example the beautiful San Blas islands or Bocas del Toro Archipelago.  I will be trained to provide you with the best information as possible and I will plan the tour or adventure you are looking for to make sure that you will create unforgettable memories during your stay in Panama.

The new office in Casco Viejo is located right next to the American Trade Hotel. This Boutique hotel opened its doors in fall of 2013 so this property can be considered as new, although already a pioneer in the hotel business within Panama-City. This hotel provides luxurious facilities to make sure that tourists from all over the world will experience the best of Panama and create long lasting memories. The property stands at the ecological and cultural crossroads of the Americas, deeply connected to both the historic old quarter and the nascent new Panama-City, a meeting place for influencers, creative and cultures from around the world. EcoCircuitos and the ATH will be working together on making sure that the tourists will experience the best of Panama.

I heard a lot about Casco Viejo but people found it hard to explain what Casco Viejo really stands for. I had to find out myself and I came to the conclusion that Casco is full of Panamanians mixed with people from all over the world. The architecture of the buildings is perfect. Although most of the buildings are dilapidated, it shows so much character and as well do the inhabitants that live in Casco Viejo. You will hear music everywhere, people are singing and sitting on the benches under the treas. This part of the city is very different compared to the other side of the city with the big hotels and shopping malls. Casco Viejo is famous because of the little restaurants, the architecture and the cute churches in the streets.ImageImage

Day Adventure and Cruise arrival in San Blas with EcoCircuitos

The San Blas Archipelago and surrounding sea are the main attractions in Guna Yala—an indigenous comarca (autonomous territory) stretching more than 200 km (120 miles) along Panama’s northeast coast—but the traditional culture of the Kuna is a close second. The comarca is composed of a thin strip of land dominated by a mountain range called the Serranía de San Blas and the 365 San Blas Islands that dot the coastal waters. Although much of the world still refers to this region by its former name, San Blas, you’ll endear yourself to residents by using the name they give to their home, Guna Yala. Note that you may also see it spelled Kuna Yala, but Guna leaders voted to change the spelling from Kuna to Guna in 2010.

On January 13th we had the visit of the Variety Voyager small Cruise Ship to the islands of San Blas and EcoCircuitos Panama organize a day of adventures with our team and our local guna guides.  For more information of day tours, mini groups and incentives, please contact us at info@ecocircuitos.com
